Passover is the meal that the Lord longed to eat with those He loved, on the night before He was crucified. Enjoy learning about the significance of the Passover feast, and how it became a holy communion with God when Jesus led it as their Light.
Pesach became a Person
I come from a Jewish family and grew up celebrating Passover with both sides of my family, but it wasn’t until I was in my thirties, living far from home, that I lead one of my own. The church I was attending at the time asked me to lead the service which is called a Seder. I began thinking about the significance of Passover not only as my heritage but also as the substance of the communion that Jesus gave His disciples before going to the Cross. It was this holiday when families gather to retell the experience of their slavery and eat food symbolizing the bitterness of their oppression that Jesus longed to eat with those He loved. The night He ate of the Passover plate with them, food stopped being something to be tasted and became flesh and blood before them. I love Passover and how it is reflected in communion, and have continued to celebrate it with my family and then, in recent years, through videos on the BeLoved YouTube channel.
