Joanna Gabriel
Be-Loved Resources is founded by:
Joanna loves music and art; she is a classically trained pianist and a lover of Jazz who enjoys wood burning and watercolors. These creative elements are often incorporated into her messages and in her workshops on faith-pictures and worship. She has a Masters in Literature focused on the function of language in personal and communal integration of trauma.
Joanna taught a course on World Literature at Suffolk University for 2.5 years, where she applied a framework of trauma, discourse and healing to understand resilience among colonized societies. She continued to pursue this scholarship through advanced degree coursework on trauma and violence at New York University in 2012 during which time she began reconciling trauma studies with her own Christian faith.
Jesus
is Joanna’s Shepherding Savior who restores her soul with His precious Words of Spirit and Life.
“Your Words were found, and I ate them, and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.”
Jeremiah 15:16
Some personal videos from Joanna
A personal story from my travels in Istanbul about how the Lord uses the small things like flowers to show His glory. For more on this theme, you can watch the communion devotional video on Psalm 8.
A personal and political reflection on the importance of the Blues for being brave and free in Love. For more about how the Blues reveal God’s love, you can watch my musical video on the Psalms.
A Father’s Day blessing about the Father’s heart to meet us where we are and clothe us with favor. For more about how we are clothed with Christ, you can watch my video on Jacob from the series on Prayer.
A video filmed after three years of travel about how living as a foreigner and stranger in the land is important for understanding God’s heart. It’s so imporatnt that God ordained Sukkot and even sent His Son as a stranger to reveal His love.
